Midnight Sun Run -- Volunteers needed

Post by FbxCycler » Tue Jun 06, 2017 9:18 pm

It is getting to be that time of year again.

The 35th Annual Midnight Sun Run happens one week from this coming Saturday, at 10pm on Saturday, the 17th, starting at the Patty Center on UAF and going for 10K through various neighborhoods and subdivisions until it ends inside Pioneer Park.

The club participates in this event by riding ahead of the lead runners and maintaining the pace for them. We also provide for basic course security and keep the course clear of spectators or anything else that might interfere with the runners or the race.

We are the only cyclists allowed on the course.

We will meet at the Patty Center parking lot at about 9:30 (or so) and once everyone has shown up, I will explain more about what we are doing and what is expected of us.

If you want to participate in this event, the only requirement is that you are a member of the FCC. It would be most appreciated if you would wear a club jersey, t-shirt, or shorts, if you have them.

You can call me at my home phone (455-8448) and leave a message, text me at my cell (687-0777) or email me and let me know.

We'll see you next Saturday at the Patty Center!
